Executive coaching for technical founders

You built the product. Now build the company.

I’m Eric Weiss, an executive coach for technical founders at Series A and B SaaS and AI companies. I’m a former founder and CTO who built the PlayStation Network, and for 15 years I’ve helped engineers and builders become the CEO or CTO their company needs.

Sound familiar?

Your strength became the bottleneck.

Technical founders are usually the best builders in the company. That’s how you got here, and it’s exactly what stops working as the company grows.

  • You still review the code, the designs, and the deals.
  • Every important decision waits on you.
  • Your executive hires leave inside a year.
  • The board wants a CEO, and you still feel like an engineer.
  • The next raise is coming and the story isn’t there yet.
  • You work 80-hour weeks and still lose ground.

What we work on

Four places founders stall.

Founder to executive

Delegate the work you’re best at, decide faster, and own your calendar again.

An executive team that executes

Hire and develop leaders who move in lockstep with you, and stop the politics between factions.

The board and the raise

Run the board instead of reporting to it, and tell a story investors buy into.

FAQ

Why do technical founders need a different kind of coach?

Because your strength is the bottleneck. A coach who has been an engineer, product leader, and CTO understands the work well enough to help you let go of it, build an executive team, and run the board and the raise.

Who is a good executive coach for a technical founder?

Someone who has built and scaled technology, works mostly with technical founders after product-market fit, and can show outcomes in hiring, fundraising, and team alignment.

How much does it cost?

1:1 executive coaching starts at $5,000 a month, with a three-month minimum.

What stage is this for?

Post-product-market-fit companies at Series A or B, roughly 10 to 50 people, where the founder has become the bottleneck.
